LabOrders lets you control the statutory holidays (days your institution is formally closed) in an easy interface and automatically reflect them across all timesheets.
Often this has already been setup by a dedicated user in your central services, but if you are following this tutorial we encourage you to confirm the details before moving to Step 6 - Preparing the timesheet for an individual user for submission.
1) Go to Projects > Statutory holidays.
2) The table will show you the statutory holidays active for a given year (in the image 2025).
3) You can add new entries by clicking the Add entry button on top of the table, filling in the information and clicking the Submit button.
4) You can edit existing entries by using the LabOrders arrow on the right side of the line and selecting the Edit statutory holiday option.
If you want to remove a particular entry you should edit it and remove the Active checkbox, before submiting it.
⭐ Tip: Statutory holidays for a new year
To speed up the creation of your custom entries for the following year, you can:
1) Select all entries for the current year with the select all checkbox on top of the table.
2) Click the Duplicate holidays button.
3) Choose the year the new entries will refer to and click Submit.
You can then edit the dates and make any other relevant changes. Once this is completed the new entries will show on all users timesheets calendars.
